Building Dedication!
Senior Pastor Jeff Jakes invites you to join the pastors, faculty and staff of Orangewood Presbyterian Church, Orangewood Christian School and Maitland Community Pre-School as we dedicate our new education building. The dedication ceremony will be held this Sunday, August 24th, in the fellowship hall. Please bring one of the following items to share: breakfast casserole, quiche or crepes, pastries, bagels, breads or muffins, or a fruit platter. Breakfast will be available from 9:15 to 9:45. The dedication ceremony and building tours will run from 9:45 to 10:30, followed by worship from 10:45 to noon. See you there!

Greater Maitland 5K Run and Walk is Set for October 4
The Greater Maitland 5K Run and Walk is just around the corner! October 4th is rapidly approaching and we need runners, volunteers and sponsors. The 4th annual Greater Maitland 5k Run and Walk, is designed to be an uplifting community event by giving to one loc al charity in the Maitland community. The Run/Walk benefits New Hope for Kids, Central Florida Helpline and Shepherd’s Hope. We have established this event to contribute to the community and simultaneously raise awareness of people and families in need during the times of tragedy and grief.
Interested in a deeper spiritual challenge for the year?
Why not read through the Bible in 2008? To encourage this discipline, Dr. Kistemaker‘s SALT Equipping Center Community will focus on the “Through the Bible in a Year” booklet provided in a recent bulletin (extra copies will be available in the class). Each week during the year, Dr. K will teach on one of the readings for that particular week. If you are not currently attending one of our age and stage Equipping Center Communities, 2008 is a great time for you to connect with others in your stage of life or join the SALT EC Community with Dr. K, meeting in Fellowship Hall – D. All classes are open to everyone and begin at 9:15 AM.
New Orangewood Preschool to Open in Fall 2008
Maitland Community Preschool (MCP), the new Orangewood Presbyterian Church preschool, will be opening for the fall of 2008 with classes for 3 and 4 year olds. Registration is in full-swing. Are you interested in joining Orangewood or finding out more information about the church? Our next Discovering Orangewood class will be starting on September 14 and will run for six weeks. Please contact Pam Theall in the church office at 407-539-1500 to register for this class.
